Finance Manager (m/f/d) Pharma

We are looking for our new Finance Head, located in our Milano (Italy), office, reporting to the Country Manager Merz Therapeutics and being part of the Executive Committee in our Italian Merz Therapeutics affiliate.

The Finance Manager (m/f/d) will be in charge of Financial Planning and Analysis for Merz Therapeutics and will manage the planning and forecasting process. The position will serve as the financial business partner and contributor to strategic initiatives and will provide expert financial analytics, guidance and strategic support for the Country Manager. The jobholder is accountable to be fully knowledgeable of the full P&L and Cashflow. This role will also be responsible for the management of the monthly accrual process, reporting and analysis of business results, variance reporting, quarterly forecasts and annual budget.

YOUR CONTRIBUTION

• Lead budget and forecasting process – manage variance analysis, expense management initiatives and investment opportunities

• Provide planning, modeling, analysis, and forecasting support for business reporting and business development needs. Consolidate forecast and budgets to report as required globally. 

• Reporting, monthly and year end closing

• Responsible for all planning processes within the respective unit (budget/strategy/YEE)

• Adaptation of Global Policies & implementation. Creation, implementation and control of Local Policies

• Maintenance and regular update of procedures and financial protocols

• Presentation of monthly / quarterly / annual Taxes

• Leading a team of three employees in the field of Accounting/Controlling and Customer Service

• Economical and financial support for local management team

• Audit representation (internal / external)

• Support the further development (including but not limited to) providing data analysis and developing options for process improvements, developing and following-up of business cases, supporting implementation and fulfillment of objectives from the MbO process

• Responsible for following and ensuring the compliance to all financial reporting processes

• Creation of financial reports including comments on deviations from predefined KPIs

• Manage general operations at the company such as HR, IT, Law, Sourcing

YOUR PROFILE

• Business Administration/Economics Sciences Degree

• Several years of experience in similar role (ideally 5-8 years within the pharmaceutical industry)

• Experience in finance/accounting in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare industry  

• In-depth understanding of IFRS and good understanding of preparing financial statements. 

• Proficient user of SAP FI/CO, Ariba / Concur, Office365

• Experience in leading a team

• Experience with audits (internal / external)

• Good knowledge about international accounting standards

• Experience in terms of taxes

• Optional: SAP BI / Qliksense

• Optional: Labor law

• Strong communication skills

• Business oriented, open mindset, thinking out of the box, flexible and adaptable

• Strategic and analytical profile, hands on mentality, able to create and lead his/her team

• Language skills: italian (nativ), english (fluent)
