As Head of Medical Affairs (m/f/d) Spain you will manage the medical activities for one or more therapeutic area(s) in the Iberian region (Spain and Portugal, (SP&PT)). You will be partnering with marketing, sales and other functions regarding all relevant activities related to the therapeutic area(s).

You will provide scientific expertise and leadership across broad range of medical affairs activities including data generation, analysis and interpretation, publications, medical communication, medical training, medical information, congress strategy and KOL engagement.

YOUR CONTRIBUTION

  • Act as an expert in Medical Affairs (MA) of SP&PT and drive the strategy for Botolinumneurotoxin and any other product (AOP)
  • SP&PT MA representative in local and global teams
  • Develop and maintain detailed knowledge of products, market trends, competitor activities, etc.
  • Provide experience to other functions (global and local) such as Regulatory, Clinical Operations, Competitive Intelligence, etc.
  • Provide medical information to the activities of the doctors as necessary, including the off-label use and publications with the products. Provide answers when needed to medical information queries.
  • Supervise the budget of SP&PT MA for the activities assigned to  Botolinumneurotoxin and AOP.
  • Work with the global team to proactively identify and provide medical information on opportunities for new indications or life cycle extension of Xeomin and AOPs.
  • Promote collaboration with doctors in relation to the preparation and conduct of trials and research initiated by local investigators (IIT) with the company's products. Actively contribute and provide medical-scientific information in the generation of the protocols and any other regulatory / ethical submission documents to facilitate the regulatory / ethical IIT approval of the IITs. Also coordinate/ monitorise /supervise the realization of these IITs until the reception of the respective final report or manuscript for publication.
  • Drive the SP&PT publication plan for Xeomin and AOP as needed, maintaining close relationships with physicians who intend to publish.
  • Ensure that adequate medical-scientific training of Xeomin and AOP is carried out for the unit's sales network and for the other people who work in the company who need it.
  • Provide support and necessary information to the SP&PT Pharmacovigilance team.
  • Provide medical information, review and approval of promotional materials or market research materials as necessary, ensuring their accuracy and integrity.
  • Collaboration in the organization of events, such as symposiums, workshops, courses, etc., with Xeomin and AOP.
  • If necessary, to carry out clinical sessions in hospitals in Spain and Portugal explaining the clinical efficacy and safety and other characteristics of the company's products.
  • Scientific advice to opinion leaders in the therapeutic area regarding drugs, their composition, therapeutic applications and differential characteristics.

 

 YOUR PROFILE

  • Relevant degree, such as Master's and Bachelor's Degree in Medical, Medicine, Pharmacy, Science or Life Science, Phd. is desirable 
  • Demonstrated several years experience in a Medical Affairs position
  • Networking skills and the confidence to interact with senior experts on a peer-to-peer level
  • A willingness to keep up to date with scientific literature
  • External customer focus with strong networking capabilities and integration with KOLs
  • Understanding of Clinical trials methodology and regulations
    Excellent communication skills
  • Fluent in Spanish & English language
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt priorities according to business and strategic needs.
  • The highest ethical standards, with a working knowledge of relevant clinical regulations and industry
  • Able to accommodate substantial travel
